Sunday morning was the 2009 Chicago Marathon, and dad was running in it for the second time. Mum was a volunteer in the medical tent at the finish line so they both had to wake up at 3:30am to be downtown in time for the festivities. This year was a big change from previous years when the weather was too warm, on Sunday morning as the first runners started the temperature beside the lake was barely above zero. Brother Karl and I followed the runners but Dad was too fast for us, we only saw him at the end. Not to worry, he ran a super time and finished in 3 hours, 56 minutes.

Le bal de la rentree pour Karl
Ce week end c'etait "Homecoming" pour Karloo mon petit frere. "Homecoming" c'est tout simplement le jour du derby pour le match de football americain local. C'etait le lycee de Buffalo Grove contre le lycee voisin de Wheeling. Juste apres le match c'etait la soiree dansante du lycee ou tout le monde doit participer en habit de gala. Karl pour cette occasion avait loue un costume, mis une tres belle cravatte et a ete chercher un petit bouquet de fleurs pour le remettre a sa partenaire de danse juste avant l'ouverture du bal. Une sortie au restaurant eait programmee avant le bal et auparavant il y a eu la seance photo ou tous les photographes professionnels sont invites a venir pour ce defile de mode.
